In September 14, 2004 Jiantao chemical storage and transportation Co., LTD., which is located in new north district, Changzhou of Jiangsu.One 5000- ton methanol storage tank exploded, where about 500 tons of methanol set fire. More than 200 firemen went all out to put down fire, until 3:40 P.M the fire was totally suppressed. The Jiangsu Province fire prevention leaders got to the fire site and gave instructions in the fire fighting process. By then, the fire was very fierce, and around the site three storage tanks had been destroyed seriously. The local eight squadron, with thirty-six fire trucks, put into emergency rescue, but previous extinguishing agent doesn't work at all. The on-the-spot commander-in-chief immediately ordered putting active plant flame retardant extinguisher into use.In a few minutes, the fire had been extinguished.The active plant flame retardant agent was praised by firefighters at the scene.
